Architectural Interpretation and Cultural Heritage

Documentation, dissection, interpretation, proposition….
How can our senses influence our perception of place?  
How can representation of place change our perceptions?   

By investigating methods of recording physical space through  
drawings, text, photography and other media, the studio
explored theoretical and physical elements influenced by
cultural identity.  Design projects were used as forums for
interposing architectural constructions into places, as much
cultural constructs as physical spaces.

The studio worked with two sites, Athens and Greenwich.  
Students explored perceptions, realities, and aspirations
posed by two World Heritage sites, and how these concepts
could be negotiated by architectural interventions.
